VOLUNTEER TO BE A GUEST EDITOR

Sign up to be a Guest Editor

Want to help select the features on Digital Humanities Now? Apply to join DHNow as a Guest Editor!

Guest Editors sign up for a semester-long commitment to identify exciting work produced or shared by the digital humanities community and nominate scholarly work and news items for the DHNow Project Coordinator to prepare for distribution on Wednesdays. After your term as Guest Editor is over, users can use the “Nominate This” bookmarklet to nominate content at any time. We rely on our community of guest editors, past and present, to help us cast the widest net possible in the Digital Humanities landscape!

Each Guest Editor will be expected to commit to one week a month for the duration of the semester. We bring the editors together at the start of each semester for an orientation and to meet each other as a team. We ask that you plan for about half an hour a day during the week (Monday-Friday) to read and nominate content for publication. Content nominated on Fridays will be considered for publication the following week. At the end of your semester, we will invite you to give us feedback, both on the pieces that you found and on the nominating process itself.

Guest Editor Registration Process

To sign up as a Guest Editor, please fill out this form—it will prompt you for some information about your areas of interest and where you’re coming from. We review applications regularly, and we hold orientations for new Guest Editors three times a year, in August, November, and May. Please email us at dhnow at pressforward.org if you have any questions!
