Job: DeBartolo Professor, Digital Humanities

The Department of English at the University of South Florida seeks applicants for the DeBartolo Professor in the field of digital humanities. Literary or rhetorical field is open, but the candidate should be interested in bridging the three concentrations of literature, rhetoric and composition, and creative writing at the graduate level through curriculum and professional training. It is important that this candidate demonstrate both practical skills and theoretical/critical scholarship in digital humanities. This hire will be expected to serve as an English department liaison in the developing interdisciplinary DH collective at USF, with potential collaboration with the library’s Digital Media Center, the Advanced Visualization Center and the Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies, and the university’s growing expertise in augmented reality. The position carries a 1/1 teaching load with expectations for significant graduate mentorship and grant writing.
