This edited collection will consist of an editors’ introduction and three sections. The first section will consist of eight to twelve chapters that define field connections between rhetoric and the digital humanities. The second section will consist of eight to twelve chapters focused on research methodology.

We are pleased to announce the 2012 Digital Humanities Summer Institute! The DHSI at the University of Victoria provides an ideal environment for discussing and learning about new computing technologies and how they are influencing the work of those in the Arts, Humanities and Library communities. The institute takes place across a week of intensive coursework, seminar participation, and lectures. It brings together faculty, staff, and graduate students from different areas of the Arts, Humanities, Library and Archives communities and beyond.

The International Program Committee invites submissions of abstracts of between 750 and 1500 words on any aspect of digital humanities, from information technology to problems in humanities research and teaching. We welcome submissions particularly relating to interdisciplinary work and on new developments in the field, and we encourage submissions relating in some way to the theme of the 2012 conference, which is ‘Digital Diversity: Cultures, languages and methods’.
