In concert with the senior leadership at SU, the Director will also be involved in guiding projects that reflect SU’s emphasis on Scholarship in Action, including ongoing initiatives on the digital humanities and the public role of art, technology, and design (http://syr.edu/about/vision.html). The Social Media Research Foundation is pleased to announce the immediate availability of ThreadMill 0.1. ThreadMill is a free and open application that consumes message thread data and produces reports about each author, thread, forum, and board along with visualizations of the patterns of connection and activity. ThreadMill is written in Ruby, and depends on MongoDB, SinatraRB, HAML, and Flash to collect, analyze, and report data about collections of conversation threads.

The International Program Committee invites submissions of abstracts of between 750 and 1500 words on any aspect of digital humanities, from information technology to problems in humanities research and teaching. We welcome submissions particularly relating to interdisciplinary work and on new developments in the field, and we encourage submissions relating in some way to the theme of the 2012 conference, which is ‘Digital Diversity: Cultures, languages and methods’.
We are seeking innovative research papers, case studies, and demonstrations of new techniques and applications that reflect the impacts of digital heritage technologies across the globe.
