Our take: This week, Invest In Open released an open infrastructure toolkit, to make rescued data easier to work with. The new proof-of-concept prototype uses wildfire data as a test case in establishing better data resilience. They selected wildfire data because it is urgent, and by its very nature involves users and data sources outside of academia. The aim was to build a system that pulls from many different data sources, disciplines, and infrastructures at once and keeps answering questions even if some of those sources go down.
